I was a shy kid, but always watched what was going on. I had no idea this was a good skill for a photographer. I’m not so shy anymore, but I’ve learned when to step in and when to step out. I love it when someone says, “I had no idea you took that.” Maybe I should be a spy.
The compliment I get most (next to the images themselves) is about how painless I made it being photographed for a day.
“You made the day much easier by being so chilled out.”
“You were very calming and made us both feel very relaxed.”
…and from a groom’s Mum, the slightly surprising, “We didn’t know you were at the reception until we saw the photos.”

I’ll take group photos, but only as many as you ask for.
I’ll suggest things but never insist.
And I’ll listen to what you’d like to see.
